Louise and Chas met and began their lives together in Chicago, so it only felt right to return to the city where they found each other for their wedding, even after they’d moved to the East Coast. They are both hilarious, incredibly intelligent, deeply generous, and, very importantly, committed to making good food together. They planned a spring celebration at Garfield Park Conservatory, making florals and plant life the theme du jour. The way all of their aesthetic elements weaved together resulted in a wedding day that felt like a nineteenth-century novel in its organic romance. Their day was filled with special contributions from loved ones: their mutual friend Drew officiated, Chas’ sister, Diane, did a reading, Louise’s brother Henry performed “Sea of Love” during their ceremony, and Chas’s mom made their cake.
Louise wore a dress by Sarah Seven; shoes by Angela Nuran customized by Shoes to Dye For with ribbons by Silk & Willow; a custom live-floral hairpiece by Field & Florist; jewelry by Lulu Frost. Boutonnieres, corsages, and garden bouquet also by Field & Florist. Hair and makeup by Debra Petrielli. Catering by Food for Thought.
