Blue Shoes from England and Wood-Fired Pizza

Katie & Derek

Rapp-Owen Granary | New Harmony Inn

New Harmony, Indiana

Katie & Derek celebrated their marriage in the history-soaked, art-filled village of New Harmony, Indiana. Katie got ready at New Harmony Inn with her bridesmaids and her mother, finishing her look with blue shoes by English designer Harriet Wilde. She and she and Derek had their first look at the Cathedral Labyrinth, a replica of the labyrinth on the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France. They said their vows and held their reception at Rapp-Owen Granary. One of my favorite memories of this day was the sunset that stretched for literal hours… the light was just dreamy, it was deliciously balmy outside, and there was so much joy in the air. Katie and Derek had The Pizza Revolution set up shop in the street outside the Granary, complete with an actual wood-fired pizza oven that they pull behind their truck in which they made pizzas on demand for hours. (Inspired, to say the least.) This was one of the more creative and yummy dinners I’ve ever experienced at a wedding, and it set the tone for a very sincere, loving, and fun reception. And Katie & Derek’s choreographed first dance was an unforgettable show-stopper.
